Contemporary 10-15 years

Friday 16:30 – 17:30

Contemporary dance is a modern and dynamic dance style that combines elements of classical and modern dance, improvisation, and floor work. It offers children and adolescents aged 10–15 a unique space where they can freely express their emotions, develop their imagination, and discover what their body can do – without strict rules, but with a large dose of creativity and inner freedom. They learn to perceive the rhythm of music, better orient themselves in space, and develop coordination, balance, and work with the center of gravity. The lessons also include breathing exercises, improvisation tasks, and teamwork, which promote self-confidence and empathy. This age is ideal for a deeper understanding of oneself – and contemporary is a great way to offer young dancers a path to self-discovery through movement. As part of the lessons, they gain not only movement skills, but also the ability to perceive their emotions, express them, and translate them into dance.

Who teaches this lesson

Gabča

Dance is a natural way of expression for me – a path, visual beauty, and joy. As a child, I danced ballet, which was inspired by my love for Tchaikovsky. I made up choreographies and dreamed of teaching them to someone one day. From the age of 16, my dream began to come true – I started teaching in dance schools and leading my first lessons. Today, I work as a dancer in the ViViD Dance Company, an extra-league team. I focus mainly on contemporary, but also on energetic styles such as Jazz Funk or MTV dance. I gain dance experience not only on stage – I have performed in several performances (The Nutcracker – Divadlo na Vinohradech, Šibenice – Divadlo Bravo!, Tanecbook – Fidlovačka, Find Me – ABC), but also in film and music (Zlatovláska, music videos, accompanying performances in the O2 arena).
